Welcome to WR979 internet radio, the internet's variety station! There are many reasons why you should listen to us!!

First, we offer a wide variety of music that range from Genre's such as:Rock, Pop, Oldies, Country, Christian, Jazz, New Age, Reggaeton, Hip Hop, talk, and much more!!
We also run 3 streams at once allowing you to switch between servers so that you might find something you'll like!!
Finally, most of our dj's broadcast in stereo between 192 and 224 KBPS mp3 offering a high fidelity sound that you've got to listen to to experience!!

There are 3 main ways to contact your favorite DJ's while they are on the air, both via phone and computer.

If you wish to talk to us via phone you can dial toll free within the US and Canada, 888-652-4440. (Not all DJ's are available via phone by there own choice. This method can only be used to contact the DJ during there time slot. All calls are pre-screened by name only. No DJ will see your phone number nor will you get there's. Any voicemails are left with management and are not guaranteed to be forwarded to the DJ during there show.)

If the link to connect does not work for you then try the following.

1, If this is your first time using Ventrilo then make sure you've set up a user name by clicking the button next to where it says user name. Your user name can be anything you want, and you can leave the fanetic and discription fields blank. After you've done this then try the connect link on the website leaving the program open.
2 If you are still having trouble connecting, do the following. Click the button next to the servers combo box. When it asks for server name, put something like wr979, or anything so you can identify the server for your own use. Hit OK and type in the following, vent7.light-speed.com port 8468.

If you do not have Ventrilo, Click here to download Ventrilo. It is free, accessible for screen readers, and will work with both XP and Vista 32/64 bit systems. Dial up and Macs are not generally supported but can be upon request.

Unlike other radio stations, we do not use a single Windows Live Messenger address. However, most of our DJs use their station Email address with Windows Live Messenger during their shows.

If you'd like to be kept up-to-date with what's going on at wr979 Radio, please subscribe to our listeners list, where staff will post announcements and listeners can comment about what they hear. It is also used to distribute various show archives.

We also have a facebook group you can join where you can meet other people including dj's, get frequent schedule updates, and much much more!!
